A national photography competition for under 19s.
This category was introduced in 2007 and has been a huge success. We all adore our pets and they all have their individual characters which make us love them. We want you to try and capture your pet's character with your camera. It may be the look in your pet's eyes, a certain place they love to go to, a cheeky moment when they are doing something they shouldn't... you decide what works best.
Wet dogs on clean sheets, cats curled up on their favourite chairs, hamsters looking cute nibbling seeds or rabbits tucking in to their favourite treats. We want to see your pets in their everyday lives doing things that pets do naturally, so please don't dress your pet up or make it do tricks for the camera.
Last year's winner was a super shot of Freya Williams' pet cat, Tilly. Freya's cat was being inquisitive and loves playing with paper. Freya caught this winning shot perfectly with superb composition and focus on the cats features and it's curiosity.
The winner of this category will win an invite to the exclusive awards ceremony where they will be awarded with a trophy and a fantastic Olympus SP-590 Ultra Zoom camera!
In 2008 we had an amazing number of entries, the images below were commended and awarded runner-up at the awards ceremony .
(Please remember that whilst we love receiving your great images we don't want you to put yourself in any danger getting that perfect shot, so when you are out and about snapping please don't put your safety at risk.)
