RSPCA YOUNG PHOTOGRAPHER AWARDS 2010

A national photography competition for under 19s.

Under 12 years

Don't you just hate it when you want to enter a competition and you're not old enough? Are you mad about photography and want to share your best photos? If you are going to be under 12 years on 6 September 2010 then this is the category for you!

Last years winner was Tim Bramall,11 whose picture of some scouring terns wowed the judges. He was really surprised that he won and chuffed with his prize of an Olympus camera which he was awarded by Matt Baker.

Over the years there has been a range of winning subjects in this category including big cats, dogs, birds and spiders. There are so many different angles, colours, positions and framing options you can choose from. So whether you're popping out to the shops, visiting your local wildlife centre or park, or just playing in the back garden, take your camera with you because you never know when a photo opportunity might arise! You can enter up to five photos into this category and don't forget to tell us a bit about the photo, where you took it, why you like the photo and why you think it is a winner!

The winner of this category will win an exclusive photoshoot at an RSPCA centre with top wildlife photographer Andrew Forsyth that will then be featured in animal action magazine they will also win a fab Olympus SP800 camera. This new camera from Olympus has the smallest and most powerful wide optical zoom than ever, whether snapping photos or trying out the new HD movie shooting option, a colossal internal memory of up to 2GB gives you the freedom to capture more.  

There is also one runner-up prize in the under 12s category, who will win a fantastic Olympus SP600 camera,which has a range of great gizmos including a huge 2GB memory, a powerful zoom and lots more to make it easier to get fantastic photos, so get snapping!

 

This years under 12's finalists had great fun at the awards cermony at the tower of London and got to meet TV presenter Matt Baker.

A quick rundown of some of the rules...

• Make sure you have taken the photo you entered; entering someone else’s photo is not allowed
•  If you are aged 16 or under you will be asked for a parents/guardians e-mail address when you register. An e-mail will then be sent to your parent/ guardian with a link to activate your account and agree to the rules, without this you won’t be able to upload photos.
• Do upload the biggest file you have of your photo, the bigger the better
• Don’t photoshop or change your image, we like them just the way they are 
• Entry is free
•  Make sure you upload your pictures before 00.01am on Tuesday 7 September 2010 (GMT)otherwise it will be too late
•   Only create one account, if you create more than one you may be disqualified
